The Closet, Inc is a non-profit organization that provides free clothing and shoes to teens in need.

Through generous donations from the community, we are able to provide this basic necessity to teens at our storefront in Boise. They come in looking for something new to wear and leave with so much more – a friendly, caring connection and a boost in confidence.

How does this work? Ada County teens in grades 6-12 hear about The Closet through their school counselors, juvenile corrections case managers, homeless shelters, other local agencies, or their own online search for help. They have the option to schedule a private, one-hour “shopping” spree with a personal stylist. Our stylists lead with empathy and compassion and provide guidance to the teens as they choose up to 12 high-quality items, including gently used clothing, brand new undergarments, socks, and toiletries.

“The Closet has not only been a place to go for the youth in need of clothing and shoes, it’s more than that – everyone that walks out of those doors after their shopping experience feels valued because someone took the time to meet their immediate needs and shop with them.”
